International R68 Register

Post by Lloyd Griffiths »

Mark,

I'm trying to establish how many R68s have survived the ravages of time. One thought was to set up an International Register so that the existing ones can be tracked. Before I put too much effort into this and not wanting to reinvent the wheel, I thought I'd ask around in case someone has already done the job.

Hi Lloyd

I believe one of our customers in Germany runs an R68 register, but I am not sure. I tried calling him today with no joy. I will be in Germany and Holland this week visiting various dealer customers of ours whom I can also ask. What ever, I'll get back to you within the first week January.

Regards, and Merry Christmas

Hi Loyd.

There is a chap in Germany who keeps tabs on R68 BMWs. However he explained that they are not keen on giving out number info as there is a huge problem of forged or faked R68 models on the market. Anyway, have a chat with him. His details are:
Joachim Maier
Leitung REHA
Kreuzhaldenweg 1
D-87629 Füssen
Tel. Priv. +49 83262 5681
Tel. Bus. +49 8362 121153
Fax. Bus. +49 8362 123030

Best regards,

Mark,
Thanks for the info. I'll try to contact Joachin. If you don't mind, I'll use your name by way of introduction.
Regards,
Lloyd
