Which oil in R50S

Which type of oil is best suited for the R50S. I've been told Morris oil SAE40 or
Valvoline VR1. ZDDP seems to be the problem, or lack of it due to catalytic converters clogging up. One article I read suggested using modern oils without ZDDP is like using water!
