The R69S uses a hydraulic damper instead of a friction disk damper like the other /2 models. If you cannot find the proper hydraulic damper, you could use a friction damper. When I converted my R69S to pull a sidecar, I did this. I found a friction damper from an R27, and it required very little work to adapt it to the R69S.

The original hydraulic steering dampers are not available to the best of our knowledge. The majority of people that I know of convert back to the mechanical friction disk steering damper.
