That's about what I thought. The sheetmetal I have purchased is so perfect that it just could not be a reproduction! Some of the parts I've received from Mobile Tradition (Classic Tradition?, or whatever it's called nowdays) actually seems better than OEM.

BMW Classic sheetmetal?

Are the BMW Classic fenders and gastanks made using the original factory tooling that had been placed in storage over the years? If I purchase, for example, a R51/3 front fender, is it made using the original stamping equipment from the 1951-54 era?

Dave...The front and rear fenders, "mudguards" in GB speak, were not originally pinstriped on the 1936-37 R5-R6. The original tank pinstrip is unusual in that the thin line is outside from the thick line. These are pecularities of the R5-6. I believe that the pattern of pinstriping for the...
