Re: '66 R69S max speed

I don't see an option to send private messages...that way I could provide me email address directly to you. There seems to be some capability there when I check "My Control Center", but maybe the PM feature is not enabled on this forum.

Re: '66 R69S max speed

Horst - The 4.00 rear tire should get you more top end, at the expense of "snappiness" on the low end. From what I understand, the 4.00 rear tire was meant for the later model R69S and US bikes with the 27/8 rear end. The 25/8 was to be used with the 3.5 tire. Do you know what the main jet...

Re: '66 R69S max speed

What size tires are you using? Are they matched to the final drive ratio? Have you checked the timing to ensure that you actually get to full advance at cruising RPM? The advance unit may have a mechanism that limits the ignition advance, thus preventing optimum timing. The carb setting of the 4th h...

Re: how to fit a bikini fairing to a R90S

Check out this parts diagram from RealOEM. It's not perfect, but should give an idea of how things might go together.

Re: rpm probleme ..bmw r755

This sort of thing can happen if the carbs are adjusted/synched when the engine is cold. The bike must be run for 15-20 miles prior to performing adjustments. Another thing it could be is a hanging advance unit. When the RPM rises and you're at a stop, try holding front brake and slowly letting out ...

Re: 1972 R75/5 Charging System Problem

This type of circuit may be different than you might think of in a car, etc. On these bikes, the battery is critical to the system. The alternator doesn't really "run" the bike, but rather feeds the battery. The battery really "runs" the bike. Dead battery...no fire in the bike. ...

Re: r50 headlamp switch

The key has several nubs on it that push into some slots in the switch. This is what turns the switch to make contacts to turn on the lights. Try the key in the reverse position...maybe the nubs are better on that side. If you remove the switch from the headlight bucket, be very careful as you have ...

Re: bing carb bmw r75/5

Have you synched the carbs lately? It's important to do this after you've warmed the engine and carb up after a 15-20 mile ride. Be ready with a box fan or something to blow air over the engine while you idle it and set the mixture, idle speed, and cable tension. A creeping idle when hot is an indic...

Re: Wixom Fairing Mounting

My Wixom fairing on my R69S has four mounts. Two come off the top of the forks...basically flat bars with the appropriate bends to match the top of the forks to "L"-shaped brackets to mount to the brackets fiberglassed into the inside of the fairing. The other two mounts are on each side w...
