Re: Neutral indicator light.
Dear Gerry, Thank you very much for your compliments. Mine is a do or die situation here because I cannot ask anybody for any suggestions or advise locally. You are very knowledgeable and happen to be the only guide for me. I have dismantled the gear box duly rigging up a suitable puller to pull out...

Re: Reg R26 and R27 engine mounting.
In the subject column of my previous message, inadvertently R37 was typed instead of R27. The error is regretted. Information may kindly be furnished.

Reg R26 and R37 engine mounting.
My R 26 is causing considerable vibrations in the normal course and while idling. Is it possible to covert the engine mounting similar to R 27 mounting . What parts do I need for this. Is there a conversion kit for this purpose. Does this conversion make appreciable change?

Re: Neutral indicator light.
Gerry, I am from India and the BMW motor cycles are very rare here. I can’t expect any help or guidance. I have already checked the entire wiring and the connected equipment of neutral light. I am sure the fault lies with the neutral switch located in the gear box only. I shall attempt this after re...

Re: Markings on the fly wheel of BMW R26
Hello Gerry, Before posing my query to the forum, I brought the piston of my R 26 to TDC observing its position through the spark plug hole and found the marking on the fly wheel tallying with a mark that looked like “01”. Because it was physically tallying I presumed it as TDC. I now know it as “OT...

Neutral indicator light.
I am new to the German bikes. I don’t have any literature on these. I am now restoring a BMW R26, 1960 model, with serial No. 366198. The neutral indicator lamp on the head light is not working properly. Some times it goes on and goes off. I feel there is a defect in the switch that activates this l...

Markings on the fly wheel of BMW R26
I am new to the German bikes. I don’t have any literature on these. I am now restoring a BMW R26, 1960 model, with serial No. 366198. I want to set the ignition timing correctly. What are the markings I see (through the window opening) on the flywheel and what do they indicate? Thanks Janardhana Rao.
