Re: R60/7 Workshop Manual
It is easier to find cheap BMW factory manuals for the pre-1970 bikes because they are available as copies. Here in the Huggett Online Shop you can buy an original quality manual: 01 51 9 798 461 Workshop manual R60/7- R100 RS >1983, GB = English, for about $100. Or perhaps one of these might be all...

Re: Getting history on a bike?
What do you mean when you say the motorcycle is red except for the VIN? What part about the motorcycle do you think was "converted", and what makes you think this? Which records do you wish to access? The record of previous owners who might have done the "conversion", or the fact...

Re: R27 tank on a R50?
Never seen it done in 40 years, so it must not fit. I have an R27 and a /2 out in the garage right now. Measured down the top, the /2 tank is an inch longer, from inside the steering notch to inside the seat notch, but it's too much trouble to take them off and compare what is different underneath.

Re: Is my clutch toast on R75/5?
Sounds like your clutch and transmission are working but disconnected from the wheel. Undo the front clamp on the rubber boot behind the transmission, and see if perhaps all the screws have backed out the flange of the universal joint.

Re: what value is the ignition condenser in the R60/2
I don't know the electrical value, but Bench Mark Works sells a generic Ford condenser so any condenser that fits probably works: http://members.aol.com/vechbmw2/partno.html 12 31 8 030 106--$10.00--substitute condenser Ford part singles & twins 1951-1969 The Ford condenser is nice because it co...

Re: R51/3: Engine identification and strange plate fitted to it:
It is a French military bike, rebuilt in a rebuild center run either by the army or a contractor. Here is a single cylinder bike showing a rebuild plate from 1982, and the remains of rivets from an earlier rebuild plate.
