Combi switch LHS for R45

Post by Jim »

Greetings fellow BMW enthusiasts.

I live in Canada and presently own a 1980 R45 N (low compression ratio piston motor) and Euro
type bars, of course. I need to replace the horn/hi-lo/blinker switch as the hi-lo part disintegrated
when I tried to renew the spring action by taking it apart and cleaning it. Not much of a loss
really, as the blinker part doesn't work all that well either.

My question is about the current replacement part, 61 31 1 244 420. Can anyone tell me if the
faceplate on the new switch has the words printed on it, such as HI/LO, LICHT LIGHTS,
BLINKER TURN or are there now pictograph symbols for the various words?

The reason I ask is that there are a number of small bits and pieces that need replacement and
I would like to keep the bike looking as original as possible. Thanks in advance for any information
that could be provided.

Jim
