I am sorry to ask it here guys. I know that it is not wise and authentic in any way, but does anyone know a replacement for the points on the magneto? An electronic -- even an analog circuit there that eliminates the points would solve a lot of problems. On the other hand, I was unable to find or come up with a solution that can fit on the original magneto of my 1956 R60. I know that it sounds absurd but i don't want to be looking for bmw points and condenser in the middle of nowhere.
cheers.

Re: --Electronic Ignition
For $95 USD you can replace the stock BMW points plate with a "Pentacomm" points plate that uses GM points and condensor. The Pentacomm also makes it very easy to adjust the timing with the motor running so you can observe the timing marks. From Motorrad Elektric in USA:

For $410 USD you can replace the 6V generator and the magneto with a 12V generator and electronic ignition, which will replace everything under the front cover. From MZ-B in Germany:
