Swivel Switch 61 31 8048183

Post by Pierre Michaud »

Mark,
I have been looking at the wiring diagram for my R69S and have come to the conclusion that I can get away with using part # 61 31 8048183 on both sides of my handlebars. Although this part is meant to be for the turn signal and horn, the only difference is that I would have to disable the ground connection and the wires would be the wrong colour. Could you check this out and let me know if my "logic" is correct? Also, does this part come complete with the 4 wires and harness cover? Thanks for looking into this. Regards

Hi Pierre,

Yes, your logic is correct. You can use the 61 31 8 048 183 instead of 61 31 8 048 195, but not vice versa. 61 31 8 048 183 has 3 switch positions viz. up (left indicator), middle (off), and down (right indicator). The switch 61 311 8 048 195 has just 2 positions viz. up and down for high beam or low beam. These "Hella" switches are without cables, and the 61 31 8 048 195 is no longer available and has been replaced with the Bosch switch from the /5 and /6 series, viz. 61 31 1 351 220.

Best regards,

Mark
