Silent block/washers

Mark,
I am unclear after consulting diagrams I have as to where washers are required and what type about the silent blocks on both the Earles fork and rear shock absorber attachments. From what I can make out, on the Earles fork there is only one standard washer required between the bolt head and the outside of the silent block. There is no washer between the nut and the fork assemblies or between the silent block and the outside of the fork assembly. As for the rear, the same seems to apply except for the fitting screw on the drive side which has two washers, I assume on each side of the lower silent block. If this is correct, Why is there no lock washer next to the nuts?

Hi Pierre

Your order was despatched today thanks.
Your observations are all correct. There are no lock washers as these are steel components. Lock washers are used where there is aluminium (soft) or sheet steel components which can move, vibrate or give.

Best regards,

Mark
