I tried to adjust the clutch cable at the handle bar by turning the cable adjustment both in and out and the cable is still very slack at the lower fork end at both adjustments. Can anyone tell me the correct way to adjust it?

Hallo, first you have to adjust the play of the clutchcable by turning the screw at the lower fork(at the gearbox, where the other end of the cable is). At the handle bar screw you make the "fine" adjustment.

First you need to compare the cable to a factory original to be sure the free length (the amount the inner cable is longer than the outer housing) if the same, You need to adjust your clutch throwout lever on the back of the transmission. If you cant get adjustment this way, you may have a badly worn clutch push rod, or throwout bearing. Its probably not the clutch itself, as they wear they will "Tighten up"
