Rocker Arm Bushings

I pulled my loosest rocker assembly apart to replace the bushing with ones obtained from Mr. Hugget. His are metal (steel) sleeves with no holes and a 3mm wide and ~1mm deep relief on one end. What I found in my rockers were alloy bushings (looked more brass than bronze) with an oil hole and corresponding relief.
Since new ones had no means to oil the rockers I put the whole
thing back together. Does anyone have any idea what these "bushings"
are for? They sure don't seem correct for my bike. (69 R50)
