Here is an article by CHEVRON regarding nonleaded gasoline and valve seat recession. I believe there is a lot of paranoia in the marketplace regarding the replacement of perfectly good valve seats and valves that were installed during the leaded fuel era. Could you please inquire on your side...or perhaps you already know for a fact, on the suitability of stock 1968 R69S valve components vis a vis their suitability with non leaded petrols. Are the valve seats not bronze? Are the valves not induction casted. Please read the article and give me your opinion. In short, is the conversion really necessary when the condition of the valves and seats are like new. Would a valve job be required any much sooner than if I were running on leaded?
