electrical problem with R26

Hello, can anyone advise me about a problem that I have had for sometime with my R26. My bike has been completely re-wired and it has an electronic regulator installed and it seems to be producing the correct amount of charge to the battery, however, when I use the headlight it drains the battery and it goes flat over a few hours. Several times I`ve had to push it, fortunately not very far. Any suggestions?

Hallo Steve,
how much is the output voltage of the electronic regulator?
Mostly you can adjust the voltage , there must be a little (very little) screw on the regulator.

I don't think you can adjust an electronic regulator. How do you know that it is producing the correct amount of charge? Myself, I would not know, but would be satisfied if the red generator light was dark.
You don't mention the age or condition of your battery. Perhaps it is not taking or holding the charge from the generator.
The battery in my R27 was several years old. If I did not ride the bike every week, then the battery would become so weak that the generator and neutral lights would not work, and of course the bike could not be started. So I would connect a charger for awhile so I could take a ride. That old battery would not take or hold the charge from the generator.
Finally I replaced the battery, and now the battery stays strong between my infrequent rides.
