Electronic regulator for R26

Hello, I finally found out what the problem was with my R26 electronic regulator. It worked all along. I had to rev the engine to high revs while it was in neutral gear and then the regulator would "kick" in, but I don`t like to do this to the bike. Is there any other thing I can do so the regulator will "kick" in at a lower rev?

See Rolf's reply to your previous message about electrical problems. He said the regulator should be adjustable.

Hi! think, that it might be useful to control the contacts of the ignition switch. If the spring is loosen, the contact will arc and does not give current to the indication lamp. The lamp gives also some refreshing current to the generator .

I changed one year ago an electronic relay to my R 25/3 and had some problems. The regulator resistance was inside the field winding ( ?) and only after disconnecting the extra gnd wire inside from the filed, charging was working!
See the diagram in Clymer's BMW twins (diagram is identical).

Anyhow I think that the mechanical realy is more reliable (robust) as the electronic (for example wrong polarity will distroy the electronic unit).
