Would the Earls Fork interchange between these to machines? Are they identical?

Although the forks have differences, I believe an R27 fork will fit a /2 machine and that several people have done it. Here is a message from someone about using an R26 fork, which has the same part number as an R27 fork:

R27 Forks on a /2

...Re R26 forks, there’s a few differences. The distance from the top of the triple plate to the swing arm pivot is 10mm shorter, the brace at the pivot is 24mm dia instead of 30mm,the length of the swing arm is 5mm shorter than the R50 and the headlamp brackets, if you have them are narrower on the R26 about 75mm for R26 and about 86mm for the R50.I guess the R26 gives a little less trail this is not necessarily a bad thing depends on tires and your style of riding.

So, the forks interchange, but are not identical.
