R6 Forks

Can anyone tell me if the forks on an R6 have the same ride control adjustment as the
R5? These would be small levers on the top of the shocks connected by a small rod.
I am thinking of buying an R6 and want to know what forks are correct. I have been advised both ways.

Thanks

Bruce

I'm afraid you can't afford to be too picky Bruce. Yes, all evidence shows that the R5 &6 shared the forks with adjustable dampers. However, the fork design was radically changed on the R51/61/71/66 series as the original R5/6 design proved to have some major weaknesses, like the yokes breaking. Because of this you may wel find the earlier bikes fitted with later forks for obvious safety reasons. Parts for the early forks are very difficult to find, especially mudguards, which are narrower on the R5 that the R51.

When riding a R5/6 the damper adjustment has very little noticeable effect. Looks good though...

Anyway, good hunting.
