I understand that one of the differences between an R50 engine and an R50/2 engine is that the latter has an oilfeed to both cylinders via crankcase oilways. Is it possible to modify (Precision drill) an R50 crankcase to provide an oilfeed to both cylinders. Is ther any documented procedure available

The cylinders are lubricated solely by splash feed from the rotating big ends, with holes drilled behind the cylinder shoulder to assist bore lubrication. I am unaware of any modification on the /2 series as all parts are interchangeable.
