R25/3 tank rack

On my recently purchased R25/3 the gas tank has a small rack on top of it it is held on by 4 threaded bolts which screw into threaded holes on the top of the tank . They are similar in style to the ones which the badge scvrews go into and look original but I have not heard or seen this anywhere Did BMW make this option Peter
