Does anyone know the correct pinstripe pattern on R51/71 tanks? The remains on one of my tanks looks like the inner stripe is 3.5mm, a 3.5mm space and the outer stripe is 1.5mm. Is this correct? It looks good. Best regards, Bruce

I don't know if these dimensions apply to pre-war: Copied from an old message board: The official pinstripe layout decided by Mr. Huggett with BMW in Munich this spring (would either be 1999 or 2000) is as follows: Wide line: 5mm Narrow line: 1,5mm Distance between the two lines: 4mm English Units: According to Roland Slabon's book "How to Restore Your BMW Motorcycle", the striping dimensions are: Edge of fender to first stripe: 1/4" Width of first stripe: 1/8" Space between 1st and 2nd stripe: 5/32" Width of 2nd stripe: 1/16"
