I am restoring an '37 R6 and a '38 R66 and need to find some original carbs for these bikes. The R66 had a 25.4mm brass Amal Fischers nr 6/420 and the R6 i am not to sure but seems had 22mm Amal Fishers nr 6/432. Willing to pay good money if workable!!

Hi Kassie,
R66 carbs are as rare as hen's teeth, but don't give up looking. I restored a basket case 1939 R66 back in 1988. Luckily it came with undamaged cylinders and a set of complete carbs. However, both carbs were badly worn, but being brass I was able to repair them and re-plate the slides to take up some of the slack. The finished bike was a delight to ride. I still get to work on it from time to time, indeed I am currently looking for a replacement FLOAT as the old one has cracked, letting in a small quantity of fuel. I wrote an account of the R66 restoration. If you would like a copy then please e-mail me.
Good luck. Gerry
