For several thousends of kilometers since I own the R50, built in '67, I experience a passage of oil from the swing arm into the rear wheel drive. Have tried a lot of things, talked to a lot of people. Only remedy known to this day: take a syringe, draw the excess oil out of the rear wheel housing and put it back into the swing arm where it came from ! Who made a similar experience and has a better remedy ??
Bye, Thomas

Hi Thomas
This is a common problem which has 4 basic causes:
1. The oil seal 28.47.10 is often put in the wrong way around. The coil spring of the oil seal should be facing the outside.
2. The oil seal is worn and should be replaced
3. A poor quality oil seal has been used. We use cfr made out of an NBR compound which is original.
4. The seal surface of the coupling 33 12 3 038 260 is worn, has a ridge and therfore can no longer seal.
Best regards,
Mark
