Rear shock covers;

Hello. Are the rear shock plunger covers of an R51/2 interchangeable with those covers of an R51/3? Are they aluminum or steel? Thanks!

They are interchangable...they were steel, painted black, except for the 1953-55 production, which was highly polished aluminum on top cover.
