I have the 8.5 gallon tank on R60/2 and would like to restore it.
The emblems were glued on and maybe they had two tabs filed off.
I've had the tank since 1972, so i think they are the original emblems.

I guess they're from a BMW 1600 . Isetta car or something ???
Anyone know? The local car dealer cannot match up the part number on inside of emblem.

Any supplier of the tank knee pads available??

Wayne, John Lacko has the pattern for your the knee pads posted on his web site, www.beemergarage.com. He also has multiple pictures of tanks showing where the pads should be located. I am restoring a similar tank but mine was missing the pads when I got it. Can you describe the thickness and whether the pad surface is textured or smooth? Believe, but am not positive, that the 1600 used an aluminum emblem mounted on the tail light panel. This should be flexible enough to bend to fit the tank. Isetta's used plastic emblems similar to what is on BMWs now. What are the part numbers on the emblems you have and what is the diameter? Steve
