direction of piston in a R26 engine

I am restoring a single cylinder, four stroke R 26, BMW engine. I find its piston has a offset piston/ gudgeon pin. The vertical centre line of piston is slightly offset compared to centre line drawn vertically through centre of piston/ gudgeon pin. The piston is greater on one side as seen from the centre line through piston/ gudgeon pin.Which side should the piston be fitted. The greater side should be on thrust side or slack side?
