R27US, R27 with /5 fork

I'm looking for experiences with a/5 fork in a R27 frame.
Like the late US versions of the twin cylindres.
I will use a 18" wheel and not the 19"/5 wheel.
Open issues are:
Steering head bearings are different, what is the size of a bearing adapter?
Can I use the original R27 front fender?
Can I use a /2 wheel?
The /5 axle is smaller, what about the wheel bearings,
Do I need a reducing bush?
I think more questions will follow.
I already have a /5 fork with brake plate.
Thanks for your advice
regards
Rainer
