Engine cylinder finish
Engine cylinder finish
What finish will prevent rusting of cast iron side valve cylinders? I have been told that powder coating will be durable but others swear by high temperature aerosol paint but my concern is that aerosols might not coat the surface completely.Any views on the subject? Thanks,Dave.
Re: Engine cylinder finish
Hi
You have probably had them done by now but for what its worth I would not use powder coating - my experience with it is that it doesnt seem to stop rust working in underneath the coating after a few years. I have found paint better - there used to be cylinder enamel made by Romac but high temp spray cans should be good.
