Oil pump gears

Mark,

There is a noticeable loose fit between the oil pump drive gear and the bearing carrier. Although very slight, I can force the large gear from side to side once its assembled on the pump gear. Is there such a thing as oversize shafts on these gears. What's the best way of fixing this problem....get another bearing carrier.....machine in bushings.....commit suicide????

Try oiling the shaft before inserting it in it's seat! It worked for me and thanks to Ed Korn.
