Oil pump drive gear (anyone)

I am questioning the fit of my oil pump drive gear with the seat in the bearing carrier. The
diameter of the one I have measured with a digital caliper is 0.4320 in. (10.97 mm). I have just purchased a used bearing carrier thinking that mine was a bit worn. Although the replacement carrier has a slightly tighter fit, there is still a visible wobble when I press the shaft from side to side.....is this normal or do I now need a new gear set. What is the spec for the shaft diameter?

Ed Korn solved the fit problem I had.....all I had to do is put some oil on the shaft....I was checking the fit with the assembly clean of oil. the oil according to Ed "takes up 0.02 mm of space and designers leave space for it when one part spins inside another"

Hi Pierre

Ed Korn gave you the correct advice.

A point of interest which may help your curiosity re oil gear dimensions. The shaft of both gears have an 11mm f7 diameter. The outer diameter of the gear is 20mm d10.
