Stieger solo seat?

I saw a Steiger solo seat on a restoration. It had a rubber block rather than a spring, so it was like a Pagusa. I am familiar with Denfeld and Pagusa solo seats, but what is the story on Steiger?

Roland Slabon refer's to these seats in his his book on twins restoration. From memory, they were produced in India as a copy of the Pagusa. Apparently the rubber compound used for the rubber portion was not hard enough so the seat frame can be felt through the rubber base when riding. They were given the name of Steiger because it sounded german.

Well, that's mostly correct. What Roland neglects to mention is that he had a hand in the inception and production of the Steiger seat. Roland mentioned this many years ago at the annual May Day Vintage BMW Swapmeet that he hosted in New Hampshire.
