using sidecar lights as turn signals?

Has anyone wired a bike with a sidecar so that the motorcycle tail light and the sidecar tail light could also act as turn signal lights? If so, how did you do it?

Jeff,
All you have to do is run the wire from the blinker switch connected to the terminal marked L (inside turn signal switch) directly to the rear light and connect that end to the positive terminal of the brake light. If for some reason you activate the brake while the blinker is on you will only end up getting more current at the tailight bulb. If the latter tends to burn out too often, then you can replace the stock bulb by one that can handle more watts.
On another note, I doubt very much what you are doing is legal with respect to the highway code. Why don't you just get yourself a bar end blinker?

I will take your advice and keep it simple. I'll get the bar end blinkers. Thanks for your input.
