/2 Rocker Arm Weep Holes

Post by J. Stracco »

I'm going to be as descriptive as I can, because I don't know the exact part numbers and
this is a situation where SEEING is much better than reading about it.

Is there a correct position for the rocker arm weep holes on a /2?

There is a brass cylinder which fits inside the rocker. It has a pinhole, which "weeps"oil.
If you are looking at the rocker straight on, it is sometimes visible through
the eyelet of the rocker. Should it always be visible? Does it matter? By the rocker eyelet
I mean the small holes on the front of the rocker, not the hole on the top which you can
prime with oil.

Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem in my R50. In addition, they sold me a couple on "brass cylinder" that were from a R51/3 and are lightly shorter than in the R50, so that the holes are not co-axial, whe you mount them.
I think that this is not a problem because the oil might fill all the axle from the top (where the axial hole is ) I suppose the oil cames from the push rods, and then flows out from the holes, wherever they are.
Any addition is wellcome.
