Use a good quality monograde 40 throughout. Change the engine oil every 1,000 - 1,200 miles religiously, and all transmission oil once a year (I change the oil on my R50 every spring to flush out any condensation contaminents from winter).
This formula has served my bike well for over 223,000 miles.
Change the air filter every 15,000 miles, and a good HMP bearing grease for other moving parts. Make the most of all modern products to keep your bike in trim.
