r 25/3 counter question

Post by Thomas »

Hello,This is the counter that my r 25/3 had when i bought it.Is this an original r 25/3 counter or you think that the previous owner have replace the original with this one?You think that i have any problems if i replace it with the standart bmw with km/h or there is a chance for the little counter gear inside the gearbox to be different?

I have never been able to upload photos here. Even when I change them to very small jpgs, they are rejected for not being in web format, whatever that is.

You should be able to change speedometers because the gear that drives the cable is the same.

You should, however, select a speedometer that matches the ratio of the gears in the rear drive:
6/25 or 5/24 for sidecar
