Have I stumbled onto a web site for elderly BMWs ?? I can only find the restoration page but it looks like its members could help me, I must add that I have had a lot of help from members at the slash 2 site but find it confusing locating stuff on there, this is much better

I to have had trouble following the slash 2 list. This is an excellent source of info right here. Also try boxerworks.com/message and go the Classic forum.

If you haven't found it yet w6rec.com/duane/bmw has lots of good info for your bike.
