1/26/91& 92 Carbs for '56 R69 ?

Post by Max Hofer »

Mark,
Is it correct to put the 1/26/91&92 carbs in the catalogue on a '56 R69, or should I try to find the original 1/26/9&10 ?
Will there be a difference in performance if I use the non-original 91&92 ?
Best Regards,
Max Hofer.

Hi Max

The only difference between the 1/26/9 & 10 to the 1/26/69 & 70 is the main jet and the needle jet. The 9 & 10 had a 115 main jet and 1208 needle jet whereas the 69 & 70 have a 130 main jet and 2108 needle jet. Bing reduced the model range in order to rationalise as you can build almost every carburettor required with the presently rationalised range. If you really want and equivalent carb for your R69, then use the 69 and 70 carbs and order the required jets.

Best regards,

Mark
