R90S silver smoke: colour code

Does anyone know the colour codes for a silver smoke R90S (Dec '74).
Also somebody told me that for restoring a bike one should not powder-coat the frame, but just paint it in brilliant black. Can anyone confirm this, and if possible give me more information on the colour of the frame?

I had a frame for an R90/6 powder coated and found the color and overall finish to be a very close match to the original. Power coating requires that ALL paint be removed from the article in question. The powder (plastic) is cured at 400 F. Any remaining paint will bubble up through the powder caoting. Also, all bearing cups must be removed due to the heat.
